Michele Ross

Vice President, Distribution Operations - Kentucky Power

Michele Ross is vice president of Distribution Operations for Kentucky Power. In her role, Ross is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the electric distribution system for more than 162,000 customers in Kentucky Power’s service territory.

Ross has extensive experience in distribution operations, from field work to management of multiple districts. She received several promotions within AEP Ohio’s distribution system since she began her career as a meter reader. After earning her network mechanic-A certification, she worked for several years in the field with crews in the Columbus area. From there, she moved into the role of safety and health coordinator, where she was able to hone her passion for safety.

After two promotions – from system supervisor of distribution in Columbus to manager of distribution in Chillicothe – Ross was named dispatch manager where she oversaw DDC operations during a time when the department experienced impactful changes stemming from the pandemic. In her last role with AEP Ohio as director of operations, Ross was charged with the supervision of five AEP Ohio districts, including Western, Eastern, Canton, Athens and Chillicothe.

Ross is a graduate of the Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She earned her Journeyman-Certification from the Underground/Network Apprenticeship Program.
