In October, the Kentucky Power team attended a lunch-and-learn session in Frankfort to discuss the EKY Energy Affordability Act and its potential to securitize the Mitchell Plant, which could save customers $40 million annually. AEP's Public Policy Director and other representatives provided insights on federal affairs and the importance of securitization legislation. The team continues to engage with local stakeholders to advocate for customer savings and support.

Apply Now for EnergyAdvantage Programs and Save Energy, Save Money

The event, held Sept. 25 in Ashland, Hazard and Pikeville, brought in 2,593 pounds of food and $26,186 in donations, including $25,000 in grants awarded to the food banks by the Kentucky Power Foundation, helping provide thousands of meals for families facing food insecurity.
