Kentucky Power Foundation Donates $10,000 to The Salvation Army of Northeast Kentucky for Rental Assistance

January 29, 2025

Ashland, KY– The Salvation Army of Northeast Kentucky has received a generous $10,000 gift from Kentucky Power Foundation to support rental assistance funding, helping prevent homelessness for residents in Boyd, Greenup, and Lawrence counties.

Kentucky Power External Affairs Manager Ryan Lake presented a $10K check to the Salvation Army from the Kentucky Power Foundation.

This funding will provide much-needed relief for individuals and families facing housing instability, ensuring they can remain in their homes during times of financial hardship. The Salvation Army’s rental assistance program helps cover rent payments for those experiencing temporary financial crises, preventing eviction and homelessness in the community.

“We are incredibly grateful to Kentucky Power for their commitment to helping those in need,” said Major Jason Swain, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army of Northeast Kentucky. “This gift will make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families in our area, offering them hope and stability in difficult times. Preventing homelessness is a key part of our mission, and this support allows us to continue serving those who need us most.”

Kentucky Power recognizes the importance of supporting organizations that provide essential services to the communities they serve.

“Kentucky Power is committed to strengthening our communities and improving the quality of life for our customers, especially through initiatives providing housing support,” said Amy Elliott, vice president of external affairs and customer service at Kentucky Power. “We understand that financial hardships can happen unexpectedly, and we are proud to support The Salvation Army’s efforts to provide rental assistance and prevent homelessness in Northeast Kentucky.”
