Appalachian Tank Continues to Grow in Kentucky Enterprise Park

July 24, 2024

Tony Roberts, president and owner of the company, is committed to offering local residents an option to make a good living without leaving the area. To help achieve that goal, Appalachian Tank partnered with Big Sandy Community and Technical College for three 12-week welding program designed to train perspective employees to weld under certain specifications of Appalachian Tank, as well as how to adhere to their specific safety regulations. The instructor from Big Sandy even came to the plant to get hands on training himself to hone his skills on aluminum welding to assist with instructing the students.  Of the current 51 full-time employees who work for Appalachian Tank, 35 are graduates from the BSCTC welding program. On September 15, 2023, the company rolled out the 100th tank manufactured at the facility.

Currently, Appalachian Tank has over 200 tank orders for 2024.  Tanks are transported weekly to customers in Pennsylvania, Alabama, South Carolina, and Iowa. Many of the tanks are used at airports throughout the nation.  “Quality is our banner,” said Roberts. “Quality in the personnel and quality in the product are the two things we look for, work toward and have every intention of achieving.” Aside from quality, the company prides itself in having a great work environment for employees and putting a smile of satisfaction on the face of customers. The company looks forward to continued growth and prosperity in the region.
